To celebrate the contributions of our 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, the United States Mint issued a dime with his portrait in 1946 and replaced the "Mercury" dime. The entire process was rushed considerably so that the first release of the newly designed coins would coincide with the “March of Dimes,” a charity that had been publicly supported by Roosevelt. The reverse design features a torch surrounded by an Olive branch and an Oak branch along with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
This beautiful 1964 Roosevelt Dime is made of 90% silver and is in beautiful Almost Uncirculated condition. Similar to coin shown.
