FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I place my order?
There are three ways to order:
1) CoinArt
For this option, we create your CoinArt from start to finish. First, select an occasion or theme (wedding, baby, anniversary) and then desired design. Many of our graphic prints feature more than one color or style, so be sure to browse through all photos. Next, visit our Coin Shop and purchase a coin (i.e. Silver American Eagle, Kennedy Half Dollar, etc.). If you don’t see a coin you would like to use in your CoinArt, please email us at coinartco@gmail.com. Because all of our CoinArt is custom made-to-order, you can choose a mat color and frame style that will match your home’s décor. Then, be sure to complete all of the personalization information.
2) CoinArt with Your Coin
This is a great choice if you already have a keepsake coin that you would like to use. Maybe it is a coin given to you by a family member or one from your own collection. Just select one of our CoinArt products, but instead of purchasing a coin, be sure to tell us what coin you are planning to use and we will include an air-tight acrylic capsule. This is important to protect your coin’s integrity. We will provide you with all of the same framing components (frame, mat boards, dust cover, mounting tape) along with instructions so you can complete the final assembly.
3) DIY Frame / Mat Kit
If you would like to insert your own graphic, photo and keepsake coin – we also offer the framing and mat components in our DIY Frame / Mat Kit. Just decide if you want a square opening or rectangle opening. You still have the ability to customize your project by selecting a frame style and mat color. These same components, including the custom mat cut outs, would cost well over $80 to $100 at a local frame or hobby shop. For this option, we also ask you to tell us what coin you will be using so we can include the acrylic capsule.
What size will my CoinArt be?
All of our finished CoinArt measures approximately 12” x 14” (vertical) or 14" x 12" (horizontal) and the mat size is 11” x 13”. The mat opening for a vertical orientation is 7.5” x 7.5” square and the horizontal orientation is 9.5” x 5.75”. The coin opening will vary – for larger coins (American Eagle), the opening is 2” in diameter and for all other coins, the opening is 1.675”. For other size requests, please email us at coinartco@gmail.com and we may be able to special order frame components.
How long will it take to receive CoinArt?
Typically, we take 2-4 business days to process your order, create the graphic print and assemble your CoinArt. This is in addition to shipping times. However, if you wish to purchase a Special Order coin, please allow an additional 7-10 business days before we are able to ship out. Please contact us if you need a rush on an order or would like more specific information regarding the shipping date.
Is rush service available?
Yes, we can rush your order if you are in a hurry. Please contact us if you need a rush and we will shorten the processing time of your order if possible.
What if I want to use my own coin?
No problem! You can purchase any of our CoinArt designs without purchaseing one of our coins. Then, just let us know what coin you will be using and we will include the acrylic air-tight capsule. This capsule is a very important component in order to protect the coin from tape / adhesive residue. We will provide you with all of the same framing components (frame, mat boards, dust cover, mounting tape) along with instructions so you can complete the final assembly.
Do you sell just the frames?
Yes! If you wish to frame your own graphic, photo or other keepsake, we offer DIY Mat / Frame Kits without the print graphic – all at a price much less than your local framing or hobby shop.
Will I see an artwork proof?
Artwork proofs are available upon request by writing in the Special Instructions field. For simple designs, we may or may not send a proof. However, for many of our designs – we will request that you review the proof and send us an approval via email as soon as possible. A delay in your approval means a delay in shipping out your CoinArt. If you are expecting a proof, please check your spam folder if you do not receive it.
Do you do custom work?
Initially, we will offer custom “tweaks” (change of color / change of type) at no additional charge – we want to make sure you are completely happy with your CoinArt. However, if you wish for us to create an entirely new design, we will need to charge a $25.00 fee. For more complicated designs, we will provide a quote before proceeding with the request.
Can you do larger quantities?
Yes, if your organization or business is interested in purchasing CoinArt in larger quantities – we would be happy to work with you. The minimum order for this type of request is $400 or 10 frames and the lead time is 4-5 weeks. Once we know your specific requirements, we will send you a quote for approval. A 50% deposit is required for all large quantity orders.
What do you use to protect the print and coin?
We use acrylic as protection for our CoinArt. Acrylic facing offers many advantages over glass. Half the weight, increased impact strength and high optical clarity makes acrylic a clear choice for our framing applications.
What if I want to ship CoinArt as a gift?
All you have to do is let us know in the Special Instructions section that it is a gift and then make sure the shipping address is accurate. We only include a packing slip and NOT an invoice. Also, be sure to check out our Gift Packaging section as you can purchase one of our packaging options. We want to make it as easy as possible for you!
How will my order ship?
We typically send out frame orders via USPS Priority Mail and single coins via USPS Routine. For heavier packages or larger quantities, we will ship out Federal Express Ground or UPS Ground, depending on pricing. If you have a specific shipping request, please include that in the Special Instructions field.
