A "Penny" for Penny

On June 1st of this past year, we welcomed Penelope Sue (Penny) into our family. Other than prototypes and web photo samples, this was the FIRST CoinArt created and gifted. The color scheme of Penny's nursery is gray and teal and I asked Penny's "Gran" for advice on the best CoinArt to create. We decided on the Baby Monogram CoinArt - not only would this design look adorable in Penny's nursery now, but it would also look great in her room as she grows to a young toddler and beyond.
And, how fitting would it be to give Penny a "Penny" to commemorate her birth year of 2018! One of our favorites and truly one of the most beautiful pennies is the Deep Cameo Gem Proof (available in our Coin Shop).
Cameo proof coins are distinguished from ordinary proof coins in one significant way: the raised parts of a cameo proof coin appear frosted. In other words, the plain, flat areas, called fields, have a mirror-like appearance — while the design and lettering (devices), are not particularly reflective and actually appear creamy or white.
My hope is that Penny will hang on to this beautiful 2018 Penny to perhaps bring a little luck throughout her life!
