CoinArt to Commemorate the 2020 VP Debate
Posted on December 04 2020
Prior to starting The CoinArt Company several years ago, I had the opportunity to work with many wonderful businesses and organizations to design custom corporate gifts as part of Originality, Inc. My creative partner, Melinda Tomasello, and I worked tirelessly to create stand-out gifts and we prided ourselves in the fact that no two jobs were alike – always paying special attention to detail and gift presentation.
So this Fall, when I was contacted by the University of Utah interested in our exclusive CoinArt frames – I welcomed the opportunity to work on this project. The October 7 Vice Presidential debate was the first time Utah had been the site of an election debate and the University wanted to pay tribute to this special event in their history. A custom coin was created to commemorate the debate, one side red and the other side blue with a large “20” in the center.
The focal point of the finished piece was a stunning photograph of the debate venue, Kingsbury Hall, adorned with special 2020 election banners along with dramatic red and blue lighting. We created a custom frame with our Modern Black molding and a white mat with two coin openings in order to accommodate both sides of the coin. Interestingly, when "both sides come together" it reflects the election year 2020.
We would like to thank the University of Utah for giving us the opportunity to play a small part in remembering this historic event. For more information on this piece or if interested in creating a custom CoinArt for your business or organization, please reach out to us by emailing coinartco@gmail.com. --- Pam
